| WHAT WE DO How we add value to your business
HOW GOOD IS IT? |
INTERNET CONNECTIONS
Broadband uses a technique known as DSL (Digital Subscriber Line). Both DSL services and normal telephone services run simultaneously over a single phone cable. So DSL services do require a standard telephone line on which to run. DSL can be either asynchronous (ADSL) where the download speed is much faster than the upload or synchronous (SDLS) where they are the same. SDLS is not universally available (only some exchanges are enabled), is more expensive than ADSL and is not necessary for most situations. But if your situation does warrant SDLS then we can supply it. The most common connection type is ADSL and a selection of our services are detailed below. The standard ADSL upload speed is 256KB, but this will be higher with a MAX service. ADSL MAX is the latest technology and uses a speed adaptive technique. The theoretical maximum download speed is 8MB but the actual speed is adapted to suit the individual phone line on which it runs. Please note a standard Broadband connection carries no service level agreement. See why an SLA is significant for business users |

INTERNET CONNECTIONS
All connections have one (or more) external static IP addresses (except the Home Worker) - essential for receiving VPN connections and either POP3 mail boxes (with web access) or SMTP mail feed. 1,3 The one off setup fee includes line
enabling charge and a high quality router - except home worker
which is a "wires only" setup with no router.
